New Release

03/01/2023

On March 1, 2023, you may have noticed some work that has started on the new parking for the courthouse. It was not your normal work; it was the transplanting of two trees a Red pointe Maple that was planted in 2019 and a Mimosa tree that was planted in 2016.  Both of the trees were planted and taken care of by the courthouse maintenance worker Barb Nelson. The trees we transplanted to the gazebo area; some of the trees will be removed due to the addition of the parking spaces needed for the jail project, others have been incorporated into the project.  The trees were transplanted by Steve Strawder, of Strawder and Daughters Tree Farm.

With input from the City of Burlington and USD 244 there will be new diagonal parking that will be from 8th and Neosho to 6th and Neosho with more diagonal parking along 6th and Neosho to 6th and Des Moines St. This will help with the parking that will be taking by the jail project when it breaks ground.
