OK Kids was held this past weekend at John Redmond Reservoir.  This annual event encourages kids to get outdoors by involving them in activities that broaden their horizons away from technology.  It is put on by the OK Kids board of volunteers and is sponsored by an outstanding number of organizations in our community. 

The Coffey County Sheriff's Department was happy to volunteer for and co sponsor several events.  We kicked off the morning of Saturday, September 9th with the Fishing Tournament at New Strawn Lake.  Our afternoon was spent with OK Kids at the paintball shoot, and we ended the evening serving a barbeque dinner and delicious cobblers cooked up by the scouts!  Shout out to Jack Bohannan for cooking the meat. 

It takes a village of good hearted volunteers to put on an event such as this.  Big thanks to OK Kids for allowing us to help with this amazing, fun weekend in Coffey County!
