Early this morning at about 1:55 a.m. the Coffey County Sheriffs office initiated a traffic stop on a newer white Toyota Camry that has been in a chase with Marion County, Chase County, and Lyon County. Lyon County lost contact with the vehicle in their County, a Deputy with the Coffey County Sheriff's Office was able to locate the vehicle in our county on I35, where the chase started again. The deputy with the Coffey County Sheriff's office led the chase which went into Osage county and continued into Franklin County where speeds reached 120 mph. The vehicle was lost about mile post 173 on i35. This is when we terminated the chase.

Coffey County Sheriffs Office received a call at about 3:53 a.m. from Franklin County Sheriffs office advising they have located the vehicle from the chase in Williamsburg and were wanting to know what the possible charges were, the deputy advised Fleeing and Eluding. Deputies from Franklin County were able to locate the driver, Coffey County deputy arrested the driver for fleeing and eluding.

The driver was booked into the Coffey County jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
