SCAM ALERT- Text Message Scam
Be aware! There are several scams circulating through text message right now. Scammers will target anyone and everyone as they attempt to persuade individuals into giving them money.
Please understand that official government businesses like the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) do not use text messages to send out information about accounts being overdue, taxes being delinquent, or in today's phone call overdue traffic tickets. Scams usually have links (don't click on any text link from an unexpected sender) and a threat.
