Register Your AED! - PulsePoint AED
Coffey County Businesses and Organizations-
I want to introduce you to an amazing tool that will benefit the safety and welfare of yourself, your employees, fellow countians, as well as visitors to our county.
Many organizations and businesses have seen the benefit of making AEDs- Automated External Defibrillators available to your employees and perhaps the general public by placing them to be accessible for use in the event of a cardiac arrest event. Using an AED within the first minute of a witnessed cardiac arrest increases survival rates by 90%, making them a valuable lifesaving tool.
If your business or organization has an AED or multiple AED's, I urge you to download the PulsePoint AED app from Google Play or the Apple App Store to register your AED's. The PulsePoint program is an amazing tool built to assist emergency responders and trained citizens to locate the nearest AEDs as well as other collocated medical resources such as EPI pens, Bleeding Control Kits, or Narcan. Registering your AED is relatively easy to do. Make sure to get the manufacturer info off of the AED (Manufacturer, Serial #, Expiration Dates) and from there it will only take a few minutes, following the simple prompts.
911 Dispatchers in Coffey County and beyond have access to a map overlay with this valuable information in case of a 911 call from your business or organization. Kansas, as well as other states have already begun this registration. I would LOVE to see 100% participation from Coffey County, and I believe we can accomplish that with your help. There is no cost other than a few minutes of your time. Coffey County Sheriff's Office Dispatchers would appreciate you helping us reach this goal!
With your help we can save lives!
Gratefully,
Tammy Sherwood
