Expect Enforcement- 58 Hwy Bridge Replacement Project

The Coffey County Sheriff's Office has received several complaints of individuals not obeying the posted 30mph speed limit and/or the "Local Traffic Only" signage posted on roadways in the 5th and Trefoil area near LeRoy.

 

Expect enforcement of the posted signage in accordance with County Resolutions 2025-946 and 2025-946a, stating, "The Speed Limit signs (30MPH) as shown on the Traffic Control Plan shall be erected within the 58 Hwy Bridge Replacement Project for the duration of the time to complete the construction for the 58 Hwy Bridge Replacement Project."

 

Also be aware of the "Local Traffic Only" signage.  "Local Traffic Only" is defined as utilizing a roadway only if your destination is located between the posted signs for local traffic.  For example, your destination is a residence, business, or property located on the route between the two signs. 

 

Please utilize the detour routes if you are not considered local traffic to the roadways posted for "Local Traffic Only", and always abide by posted speed limits.  Expect enforcement from Coffey County Sheriff's deputies when posted laws are not followed.
